Accessibility

ironbridge.consulting is built to WCAG 2.2 AA. What that covers, how it is checked, and how to reach Joe if something does not work for you.

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA, and it is checked against that standard before every release.

What That Covers

  • Every page works with a keyboard alone, and the focused element is always visible.
  • Text meets a 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio against its background, and large text and controls meet 3 to 1.
  • Every form field has a visible label. Errors are written in words next to the field, never shown by color alone.
  • Headings run in order, one H1 per page, so a screen reader can move through the page by structure.
  • Motion respects the reduce motion setting in your operating system. With it on, nothing on the site animates.
  • Every page works with JavaScript off, including the contact form.
  • Tap targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels on a phone.

How It Is Checked

Every build runs an automated accessibility audit on every page at phone and desktop widths, and the build fails on any violation. Lighthouse accessibility scores 100 on every page.
